Amanda DuBois (She/Her), Graduate Intern

Hello! I am Amanda DuBois, a graduate student at Midwestern State University working toward my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology, along with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies, from Texas Tech University. I am currently completing my practicum at Vibrant Journey Counseling, under the supervision of Ashley Hubbard, M.S., NCC, LPC, LMHC, as my site supervisor, and Dr. Patrice Dunn, Ph.D., LPC-S, as my university supervisor.

My interest in counseling was shaped early in life through volunteer work in hospice care, where I witnessed both the fragility and resilience of the human spirit. That experience, along with my faith, continues to fuel my belief that peace is possible and that healing is always within reach. For the past several years, I have had the privilege of working as a Paralegal at an estate planning law firm, where I assist our clients in navigating the emotional and legal complexities of losing loved ones. This experience has deepened my commitment to being present with people in difficult moments.

I have a deep passion for supporting individuals as they navigate life’s most difficult seasons. I am especially drawn to working with those experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship struggles, and major life transitions. I find purpose in helping people feel better about themselves and more hopeful in their circumstances. I hope to bring a person-centered presence to the counseling room, while integrating foundational techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy as I continue to gain meaningful experience.

In my free time, you will most likely find me spending time with my family. We love the outdoors and spend much of our time camping, hiking, and searching for new outdoor adventures. Being in nature is one of the ways I recharge and stay grounded. I also enjoy cooking and reading when time allows.

My fee is $30 per session.
