Kacy Latham (She/Her), LPC-Associate Supervised by Dr. Tara Fox, Ph.D., LPC-S

Hello!  My name is Kacy Latham (she/her), a licensed professional counselor associate and I am proud to be a part of the Vibrant Journey Counseling team. I graduated with my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Midwestern State University, and I am licensed to practice in the state of Texas under supervision of Dr. Tara Fox, Ph.D., LPC-S. With my undergraduate degree in fine art, I approach therapy from a holistic and creative perspective. My decades of experience in visual and performing arts showed me an undeniable correlation between artistic expression, exploration, and personal growth.

I have a particular interest in working with survivors of CPTSD and victims of controlling and abusive relationships. I believe that trauma can have long lasting effects on all areas of our lives and most critically, the development of authentic self-hood. Trauma can manifest as emotional flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks, critical self-talk, poor boundaries, social anxiety, loneliness, abandonment issues, fragile self-esteem, relationship difficulties, emotional reactivity, dissociation, self-harm, risky behaviors, addictions,  and suicidal ideation. Healing from Complex PTSD often requires a multidimensional, dynamic, and collaborative process dictated by each client’s needs and preferences. I believe that clients can benefit from understanding the impact of early experiences and how it shapes identity, emotional maturity, and current coping mechanisms. I also rely on the principles of psychodynamic and empathy-focused therapies as well as neuroscience-informed techniques, mindfulness practices, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed therapy. Most importantly, I believe it is nearly impossible to be a well adjusted person in a severely broken world. My therapeutic approach also involves supporting clients as they explore the impact of familial, social, cultural, and religious systems and how they may have shaped their perceptions of themselves and the world.

I welcome adolescent and adult clients into a judgment free, safe therapeutic environment regardless of race, ethnicity, disability, neurodivergence, gender, sexual orientation, faith, or lack thereof.

My Fee ranges from $85 per session to $150 Private pay. I am able to accept Cigna and Aetna insurance.
