Sarah Chaddick (She/Her), Graduate Intern

Hello! I'm Sarah Chaddick (she/her). I received a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies, while minoring in Psychology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, in 2020. Since graduating from Texas Tech, I have been fortunate enough to work for both UT Southwestern Medical Center Pediatric Clinic and Children's Health Hospital. I am working on obtaining a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Midwestern State University. Under the supervision of Ashley Hubbard, MS, NCC, LPC, LMHC at Vibrant Journey Counseling, and my university supervisor, Dr. Wendy Helmcamp, PhD, LPC-S, CSC, I hope to learn more, experience more, and do more for others.

My passion for advocating and supporting individuals stems from my own unique adoption story and my faith. I am interested in working with clients who are adopted, parents who have gone through the adoption process or thinking of adopting, couples who are thinking of having kids, and those who have been in traumatic events of sexual and physical violence and abuse. My focus areas include PTSD, abuse and neglect, alcohol and drug use, relationship issues, anger management, anxiety and depression, and ADHD and learning disabilities. I also focus on medical issues such as chronic pain, autoimmune issues, genetic disorders, and other medical stressors.

I want to challenge my clients, give them opportunities to reflect, and give them a chance to process their past, present, and their goals for the future. I aim to utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. In addition, I want to eventually become EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) certified and be able to utilize this therapeutic approach when addressing trauma and traumatic memories with clients. I hope to give a little piece of myself to my clients as they give me pieces of themselves, working together to meet their needs.

When I'm not in session or working full time, I enjoy family time, reading, running and playing volleyball and taking Lyla, my goldendoodle puppy, to the dog park. I love all things country, enjoy cooking, and exploring the outdoors with family and friends.

My fee is $30 per session.

I look forward to meeting you, listening to you, and guiding you
